Crabs
Crabs now spawn in more biomes, and even in different colors!
Red variant found on beaches;
Green variant found in swamps;
Light Gray variant found on stony shores;
White variant found on snowy beaches;
Crabs now have a lower spawn weight;
Crab spawn group numbers have been lowered from 3-6 → 1-3.
Crab Trap Balancing
Crab Trap now has 27 slots;
WARNING: Existing Crab Traps will need to be broken and replaced or may crash when trying to be opened.
Requirement for open water around the trap is reduced from 5x5 down to just 3x3;
This requirement now needs to be met for the crab trap to be able to function;
Can be toggled on/off in the config;
Traps that are in a water biome will now work at double the pace to catch items;
This is controlled by the biome being part of the forge:is_water tag;
Bait is no longer required for a crab trap to function;
When no bait is present, the crab trap has a very slight chance of collecting sealife but will mostly capture junk (75% items 25% mixed sealife);
This uses the “air” loot-table for simplification purposes;
Fish used as bait will have equal chance to capture items, or specific sealife (50% items, 50% specific sealife);
Chum will have a 100% chance at catching specific sealife still.
Chum
Chum buckets now have 48 durability;
To compensate for the increase in durability, the recipe for all chums has been changed;
New recipe is 4 fish, 4 bonemeal in a ring around an empty bucket.
Advancements
Shrimp Fried Rice advancement is now a hidden challenge.
Additions
Crab Claw
A new rare drop from Crabs;
Chance goes up when using looting;
When held in either hand it will extend the placing/breaking/attacking range of the player by 3 blocks;
Takes 1 durability for each successful mob hit, block place, or block break;
Breaks after 128 uses, but can be enchanted with Unbreaking and/or Mending.
New Food
Added Shrimp Fried Rice
This meal comes with a new advancement that I thought was funny;
Added Jar of Pickles
Crafted with 3 sea pickles in the cooking pot with a glass bottle;
Added Sea Pickle Juice
Crafted with a bottle, sea pickle, and a sugar in crafting table;
Grants short nausea and a few minutes of water breathing.
New Potion
Potion of Inkiness
Base potion applies 15 seconds of Blindness;
Can be turned into a splash, lingering, and tipped arrow.
Changes
Crabs are now bred using kelp, as it was originally intended by Mojang;
Backend handling of tags for data generation has been improved to be a little easier to read and modify.
Fixes
Fishing loot tables should no longer be over-written, and should only be adding new items;
Reduced crab spawn weight from 70 to 30;
Should help reduce the spawning of them from being overwhelming;
Crabs no longer drop 2 raw crab every time, just 1.
Fixed in 1.1.4a
Fish barrels were not dropping as intended.
Crabber's Delight 1.1.3
Additions
Crabs (entities)
Crabs spawn in Mangrove Swamps as they did from the Minecraft Live 2023 mob vote. They naturally spawn as the blue variant;
Crabs can be led and bred using Cod or Salmon. More breeding items can be used by adding them to the “crab_tempt_items” tab;
Crabs can be picked up in a water bucket, similar to other fish, axolotls, and frogs;
Different crab colors can be obtained by using dye on them!
Breeding crabs of different colors will yield babies of the combined color, assuming the two colors combine normally (ex. Blue + Red = Purple).
Fish Barrels
Currently have all the vanilla fish, crafted with 9 of each.
Chum Buckets
Each type of seafood can be caught by using a chum bucket as bait in the Crab Trap;
Chum buckets are crafted with a fish, two bonemeal, and a BUCKET;
Chum buckets only stack to 1, and once they are depleted in the Crab Trap will return the bucket;
Two matching chum buckets with partial durability can be combined together to “refill” one of the buckets, but this will destroy one of the buckets (this is partially a Minecraft limitation that I haven’t figured out how to fix, just know that it is possible);
Implemented the (now incomplete) Japanese translation - thanks PExPE3!
Changes
Crabs, cooked crab, crab barrels, and crab legs have all been retextured to match the texture of the default blue crabs.
Crab Traps
Putting fish in the Crab Trap no longer solely yields seafood. This functionality is replaced by Chum Buckets (see information above);
Putting fish into the trap now collects the “junk” loot table, or the “treasure” loot table if the conditions are met of having a 5x5 area around the trap be clear of other blocks (traps do not impact this, nor do water logged blocks);
Crab traps no longer passively collect items with no bait in them.
Fixes
Fixed bowls not being returned to the player when foods are eaten;
Fixed z-fighting on the Crab Trap model.
Crabber's Delight 1.1.0
